Q: Who provides the meals?
A: All meals will be provided. Students are responsible for preparing their own lunches from the food that is supplied.
Q: Will drinks be provided?
A: Water and other drinks will be available throughout the event.
Q: Is it required to stay overnight at the retreat location?
A: Yes, overnight stay is part of the retreat experience, but we understand special circumstances may arise and exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Q: What happens if someone is injured?
A: First Aid will be available at each location. Additional precautions will be taken as necessary, and a parent or guardian will be notified promptly. If further medical attention is required, Mercy Jefferson Hospital will serve as a primary resource.
Q: I am unable to volunteer but would like to make a donation. How can I do that?
A: We are deeply grateful for your support. To make a contribution, please click on the Donate Button or QR code to take you to our donation page where you can securely enter your information. Donations may also be placed in the collection basket or dropped off at one of three parishes – Good Shepherd, Our Lady, or Sacred Heart. Please make checks payable to “Sacred Heart” and be sure to include Healing Homes Ministry in the memo. Thank you for your generosity and helping us continue our ministry.
Q: How do I apply for assistance with my home?
A: If your home is in need of help, by clicking the My Home Needs Healing button which will take you to our application page. You are also welcome to share your need directly by visiting Our Lady, Good Shepherd, or Sacred Heart parish offices, who will be glad to guide you through the process. Please know that all requests will be treated with respect and confidentiality.
Q: What takes place in the evenings?
A: Evenings will be dedicated to spiritual enrichment, including inspirational talks, opportunities for reconciliation, and Eucharistic Adoration, along with faith-based activities that foster prayer and community.

A: During the day, we will serve the community by repairing and improving homes and property. In the evenings, we will come together for spiritual growth and reflection.

Q: How old do you have to be to attend?
A: In order to be eligible to attend, you must have completed your freshman year.
Q: How are you assigned projects?
A: Each student will be assigned a team with a project manager. Teams will be assigned based on the skill level of the project manager.
Q: Are there special requirements for 18 or older to attend?
A: Yes! All individuals 18 or older at the time or turn 18 during mission, must have Prevent and Protect Training or they will not be able to attend. There are no exceptions. If you have any questions please email Diana Parker.
Q: What do I need to bring?
A: A detailed packing list will be provided to all participants.

A: Yes, they will all have attended Prevent and Protect training which includes a background check.

A: Yes, chaperones will be available during the day and at night. All chaperones will have attended the Prevent and Protect training which includes a background check.
